Description
MEGA-RARE and the best vinyl LP version of this album ever produced -- The Doors - L.A. Woman - DCC audiophile 180+ gram pure virgin vinyl analogue pressing -- DCC Compact Classics USA -- LPZ-2050. Please see ACTUAL PHOTOs. This is an extremely LOW NUMBER from the Limited Edition on this title. It is No. 0100 (please see photo). The source was the original 2-track stereo master tape. Using an all vacuum tube cutting system, the lacquers were cut by one of the best sound engineers in the entire world, Steve Hoffman. Steve is famous for what has been called, "the breath of life" on many of the album projects he has worked on. L.A. Woman is no exception -- it sounds warm, natural and superb! No phony EQ boost like some audiophile labels apply, just a skillful transfer with superior cutting. This DCC version is still much better than the Universal version that was introduced a couple of years ago, regardless of what the marketers claim. The proof is in the listening. Just ask Tom Port from Better Records or any number of audiophiles in various forums. This DCC version is still the king of the LPs! And what a great album it is; with songs like "Love Her Madly," "The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)," the title track, and the tour-de-force, "Riders On the Storm," this is one of the Doors strongest albums and one of the greatest of the early '70s (originally released in 1971). Complete Track Listing: "The Changeling," "Love Her Madly," "Been Down So Long," "Cars Hiss By My Window," "L.A. Woman," "L'America," "Hyacinth House," "Crawling King Snake," "The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)" and "Riders On the Storm." Vinyl is Near Mint ...a couple of very light paper scuffs caused by the original inner sleeve (cosmetic-only, absolutely does not affect play -- inaudible) - LP was immediately transferred to separate protective rice paper inner sleeve upon initial opening when new ...LP has been played no more than three times -- sounds superb! Excellent reproduction of the original die-cut cover/jacket is VG++ ...the beginnings of one tiny paper seam split at the bottom that has not broken all of the way through, one small crease mark on the back and a couple of light marks. Overall, it's still an excellent cover. If you would like to get an additional DCC cover of this title I know where they are available for less than $10.00, including shipping. If you win this auction and are interested, just ask. Original yellow inner sleeve retains original artwork. LP housed in a separate high-quality rice paper inner sleeve. Includes ORIGINAL poly outer sleeve with DCC gold rectangular sticker still 100% intact (see photo). Stored inside an additional poly outer sleeve in a smoke-free environment. This is an outstanding package and VERY RARE. I doubt that you will see another Limited Edition number this low for this title.
