Another from my personal collection! This album has been stored in a case for over 25 years, with the vinyl seperated from the cover and sleeve for protection, this is how I have always stored my records! This is the original 1st issue\ 1st UK pressing 39 years old! I have graded the audio as very near perfect throughout absolutely stunning audio seperation! The vinyl was pressed from the earliest\first master #1#1 matrix endings! The 1st issue MacNeil Press printed gatefold is also superbe,strong and straight! A real collectable for any avid Doors collectors or fans!!  (No clicks or pops just cristal clear and very vibrant top audio, unbeleivably rare to find like this after 39 years!!

Morrison Hotel (sometimes referred to as ''rd Rock Cafe''rom the title of the first side of the LP, whose second side is titled Morrison Hotel) is The Doors' fifth album. It was released in 1970. After their experimental work The Soft Parade was not as well received as anticipated, the group went back to basics and back to their roots. On this album, there is a slight steer toward blues, which would be fully explored by the band on their next album, L.A. Woman. The strategy worked; even though no major hit singles were drawn from the album, Morrison Hotel reestablished The Doors as favorites of the critics, peaking at #4 on the US album chart, and when they followed with L.A. Woman the next year, they were rewarded with two more US Top 20 hits. The album also became the band's highest charting studio album in the UK, where it peaked at #12!.

Additional musicians include harmonica whiz G. Puglese (aka John Sebastian) and blues master Lonnie Mack on bass!!.

The cover photo was taken at the actual Morrison Hotel located at 1246 South Hope Street in Los Angeles. The band asked the owners if they could photograph the hotel and they declined, so the band went inside when nobody was looking and took the photograph!!.

Notable is the inclusion of the track Indian Summer, the first track ever recorded by The Doors. Morrison's vocal track was re-recorded for this release!!.

The vinyl

This is thre original 39 year old thicker chunky slab of vinyl much thicker than later reissue pressings! These have deeper grooves and are much more robust! In my opinion these thicker vinyls produce the best audio quality! The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free from warping!

On initial inspection the vinyls playing surface looks awesome, it is hard to see a blemish at all! Super glossy opriginal sheen has been retained from new! Only in strong light only possibly, any sleeve removal marks be seen. Any that there might be would be non audio sounding! I can't see any audio sounding marks or needle scratches at all!!

The Audio Quiality

I have played this vinyl at very loud volume on a top system prior to listing! This audio was very near perfect on my systems! (No) clicks or pops and certainly (no) skips or jumps! (no) signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed at all! Unbeleivable for 39 years old! Absolutely superbe top top audio! The audio must grade at least excellent plus to very near perfect!

Please note! I always make this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 39year old vinyl (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 39year old system!!!!

Please note! This has been stored in a case for at least 25 years! Any static crackle that might be heard during some quiet parts could be minimised by constant cleaning before each play in my experiance!, Build up of dust and dirt that has accumilated over the years from the vinyl being stored! laying dormant causes most of this problem so please allow for some light static crackle as  previously mentioned!!!!! I would class myself as highly critical ! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!!

The Labels

These are the original 1st issue Red Electra labels in superbe condition! Spidering can be seen angled to the light. There is little if (no) spindleware the hole is perfectly round!

The Cover

This is the original 1st issue unlaminated MacNeil Press printed gatefold cover! This is in awesome condition throughout, without any splits or tares (no) real creases to talk of. Just very light general rubbing at the edges barely noticeable unless looked for. All print is legible! This must grade at least excellent to excellent plus!
