Description
Purchased as part of a recent Omega Auctions lot and previously owned by Dick Green of Creation Records from the mid 1980s onwards, this listing is for an extremely rare white label promo 12" of 'Upside Down' by The Jesus and Mary Chain. The specific detail of this legendary piece of vinyl from the original Omega auction listing is - 12" (CRE 012 T, 3-track 12" white label test pressing. Upside Down/ Vegetable Man/ Upside Down demo. CRE 012 (T) A1 / B1 MPO matrix. Record Ex, perhaps Ex+ after a professional clean) Have a look at the range of accompanying auction pictures which also shows the Omega lot sticker (#336) and paperwork, as well as the very sturdy and professional packaging that I will re-use to ensure an ultra-safe delivery of the contents. Forty years old and previously owned by an original Creation Records staff member (who ran the label alongside first Mary Chain manager, Alan McGee), this is a one-off listing for a legendary indie record (that ultimately did not receive full release after Jim and William Reid objected to it) and should not be missed. Two copies are for sale on discogs at £161 and £250 at present but this is a bona fide original direct from the private collection of a Creation founding member and is listed here cheaper at under £100. Feel free to email with any questions you may have and thanks for looking. And finally, just in case there are any queries regarding this...the test pressing 'Upside Down' 7" has gone elsewhere!
