The KINKS were, like The WHO, a leading Mod band, making RnB and Garage pop rock into a vital British style.
They stayed on the Pye lable for the 1960s, where their pop took on a somewhat more sophisticated psych style as the decade went on - the Swinging 60s were an astonishing period for imaginative music and fashion!
Ray Davies with his brother Dave essentially laid the way with tough mod sounds, lyrically direct stories and creative rhythms to carry it all. Indeed Pete Townshend was specific in wanting the style for his band, and followed in their footsteps from The Who's first records.
A VERY RARE STEREO EXPORT EDITION of this album, and great to get into as it grows on you, it's surely one of the standout records of the time!

CONDITION;
The VINYL grades NEAR MINT-, plays and sounds great!
On track 1 there's a light mark that causes a tic for some revolutions. It's why this one track grades NEAR MINT- (aka 'minus') and not as close to MINT as the rest of the lp. This may have been not sold at the time due to this - and why there are signs of it barely having been played in 60 years!
PYE raspberry red Labels are NEAR MINT.
There are 2 extremely light spindle lines on the centre hole only, barely visible under closest inspection.
The Single Card LAMINATED Cover grades EXCELLENT, a very respectable example.
Very slight aging at the edges only, with critical examination.
It's doubtful that many exist of this as a 'used' record today!
