I am selling off a collection of vinyl that I found stashed away in my parents old stereo cabinet. To be honest, I never paid too much attention to what was in there, because my folks didn’t really listen to anything that I considered to be cool, but to my surprise a few weeks ago, I discovered a bunch of really cool psyche, jazz, folk and surf records.. Even stranger, a lot of these copies are marked for promotional use only… Apparently, my mom used to know a DJ! Most of these records don’t even look like they have been played. In fact, knowing the kind of music that my parents like, I’m sure that most of them either were not played, or only listened to once (I recently played them to check the condition and burn myself copies).

Anyhow, I have spent the last few weeks researching what these titles are, how much they are worth, cleaning off any dust and bagging them up so that they can go to a proper vinyl appreciating home. The Meters- Struttin’ The rarest Meters record ever! This is one of the 3 classic funky albums they cut for the Josie label in their early years -- and it's about as hard and heavy and funky as you could get! Struttin' finds the New Orleans foursome introducing some exciting new elements to their one-of-a-kind rhythmic gumbo. While the foursome deliver their trademark funk grooves on such tunes as "Chicken Strut" and "Go for Yourself," the album places an increased emphasis on vocals, with keyboardist Art Neville delivering some distinctly soulful singing on several tracks, including memorable readings of Lee Dorsey's "Ride Your Pony," Jimmy Webb's "Wichita Lineman" and Ty Hunter's "Darling, Darling, Darling." The result is one of the legendary combo's finest--and funkiest--releases, and a cornerstone of their classic catalogue. A bucket of breaks in every track.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL PRESSING- NOT A REISSUE!!!!

The overall condition of this item is super excellent. The jacket is still glossy, the front cover has some light ring wear (see photo) light wear on the corners, but they’re still pretty firm! The spine is 100% intact, are no seam splits or jagged edges and the bands name & catalog number are still visible. The back cover is also excellent- no marks or scuffs and doesn’t display much wear at all. This record jacket is stupid clean!

The vinyl is clean. Housed in the original paper sleeve, the wax is still glossy, no deep scratches or warping. There is hardly a mark on both sides. The labels on both sides are beautiful. The spindle hole is also near mint (but it looks like it came from the factory that way). This is a great soul record!! I bet this thing hasn’t been played more than 3 times.

I have stored this LP in a polybag sleeve for protection and it will be mailed out to you in a standard LP mailer.
