Description
If you are into the history of your favorite band, and that band is Electric Light Orchestra, than this three record set will give you an idea of the origin and development of Jeff Lynne and the sound of ELO. The original release of Birthday Party by the Idle Race in 1968 was a unique musical party. This record is the rerelease on Sunset Records in 1976. Split Ends by The Move brought together Bev Bevan, Roy Wood, and Jeff Lynne. All tracks are written Lynne or Wood and features the rock anthem that was later produced and covered by Rundgren and ELO, DO YA.. This is introduced in its rawest form. Also offered here is The UA release of A New World Record, probably ELO's biggest commercial success, with tracks like Telephone Line, Livin' Thing, and of course the final iteration of DO YA, Complete with the strings and other orchestral sounds that made ELO famous.
