THE NEW DAY - "Life To Me" & "Lori" - 1967 AZ Garage rocker on Daybreak Records #ARA-91267. Clean VG++/EX condition vinyl, with a few superficial surface marks and paper-scuffs. Labels are clean and unmarked. Nice collectible condition for this RARE Arizona Garage single! - Price includes FREE 1st-Class shipping in the USA.
MORE DETAILS AND A "REVIEW" ON THIS RELEASE: "The New Days" single is kind of a weird one, (even by Arizona standards). The band consists of a basic Electric guitar, Bass & Drums combo, with some generic backing vocals. The "Lori" side is mid-tempo, but with more of a "British Invasion" feel. The "Life To Me" side has a little more of a "hippie" feel, but still pretty basic stuff. ***BAD NEWS: The vocals on this record are insanely BAD! - The lead vocalist sounds like a cross between Perry Como and Pat Boone; like some kind of a haircut lounge-monkey trying to cut a "hip" record in the 1960's.
Based on sheer the scarcity, the record is appropriately priced, but to me, it is more of a "novelty" mid-60's Pop-Rock offering. With a raw, garage vocal track, it would be a winner, but with the sagging, weirdo lounge-crooner vocals, its' interest is going to be mainly for "completists" looking for rare AZ singles."
