Description

Original soundtrack release by Avco (AVE -0-11002) in 1970. The movie about the LSD druge scene and youth alienation, starred Eli Wallach, Julie Harris, Hal Holbrook, and Deborah Winters. Soundtrack is a great psychedelic trip movie score. Music was composed and conducted by Don Sebesky, and includes tracks performed by The Glass Bottle and The Bead Game, plus a vocal number with Gary Criss. Research on this obscure album shows that: "about half of the album is taken up with tight late 60s psych numbers, and the other half is much trippier, being a mix of funky instrumentals. There's a great uptempo brassy groover called 'Maxie' plus some oddball ambient funk with samples on 'Elliot's Pad' and the weird 'The Trip'". Album cover has ring wear, and edge/corner wear. There is some seam splitting to the top edge, and to the bottom right corner (2 1/2"). Also a radio stations call letters in marker on the front cover, and a name written on front & back cover. Vinyl is in Very Good condition with some scuffing and light surface scratching. Still has a sheen. Includes the Avco / Embassy inner paper sleeve.
