MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find very first Stereo press released by A&M Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1980 by EMI Odeon Chilena S.A., licensed from A&M Records Inc., USA, catalog number 11410, with hand etched matrix numbers 04831 B/1 in Side A and 04831 B/3 in Side B, with traditional silver/black A&M Records labels with big brown “A&M” and solid center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” was originally released in October 1980 in USA and the same year we got this single released here in Chile in two different versions: the original English version, with “Friends” as Side B, and the Spanish version, with “Man In A Suitcase” as Side B. Song titles are written in original language, because it doesn’t have translation, the Side A, and in Spanish, translated to English, the Side B, with full credits for songwriters and for The Police and Nigel Gray for production, with additional information about licenses. This single “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” sung in Spanish and with “Man In A Suitcase” as Side B was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this classic hit “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” by The Police in one of the rarest issues worldwide, a record not many times!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of The Police and Sting and Punk/New Wave music of late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice VG- or VG condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many soft scuffs, hairlines and some light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with only some light spindle hole wear and faint blemishes, hard to see at first sight. The sound is in strong VG or even VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant very soft crackles and occasional light pops and clicks, more evident in the first and last seconds of each song, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure with still a nice look, clean labels and still a great sound quality after almost 40 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind this record has a solid center and Spanish-written song title in Side B, the song “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” is sung in Spanish and it was ONLY RELEASED IN CHILE with “Man In A Suitcase” as Side B. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
