WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE original Polydor Records very first Mono press released in Chile in 1966 by Polydor Records, made and distributed by Discos Philips (Philips Records), licensed from Polydor Records, Germany, through the Deutsche Grammophon GES., catalog number 423.020, with machine etched matrix numbers 423020 A 8 2 (P) 1966 16?V in Side 1 and 423020 B 8 2 (P) 1966 16?V in Side 2, with orange/black Polydor Records labels and white “Polydor” logo. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile for all lovers, fans and collector of The Pussycats and European Beat music of the ‘60’s!!!

“MRRR… MRRR…” was originally released in 1966 and late the same year we could see this album released here in Chile and like in so many cases of the period we got it with an UNIQUE COVER, made of a single piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, so 3 sides are open, faking a gatefold cover and kept held for a plastic bag. Front and back covers keep strictly the original German artwork, with the only difference that tracklist and lines under each picture of the members of the band are written in Spanish only, with full credits for Graf as songwriter of each song. In back cover you can see a diamond-shaped pink sticker with the text “SERIE DIAMANTE – LA SERIE DE LOS GRANDES EXITOS” (Diamond Series – The Series Of The Big Hits). In labels the album title is omitted and the trackslist is also written in Spanish only, with full credits for Graf as songwriters of all songs. It’s interesting to notice that in back cover the Polydor Records logo keeps the original German “International Polydor Production” logo and in both labels the name of the band is written “THE PUSSY CATS” and not “The Pussycats”!!! If you know this album sure you know this LP is considered one of the rarest Beat albums of the ‘60’s and the original Norwegian issue is included in Pokora’s book, so you can imagine the level of rarity this Chilean press has, it’s even rare to have seen this LP released here in Chile, thanks to Philips Records which released part of the catalog of the period of German Polydor Records. When I got this record by the very first time I was informed that only 300 copies were made, but I guess that number is wrong even though it’s a fact only few hundreds were made. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this already MEGARARE LP by the Norwegian Beat band The Pussycatsm with UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE NAME OF THE BAND “THE PUSSY CATS” in both labels!!! WOW!!! AMAZING FIND and in GREAT CONDITION!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clear and clean, with some wear in all the edges, more evident in corners and top edge, with creases and some little rips, evident age browning in back cover and light ring marks. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only some soft scuffs and light hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect sound at all. Labels are in absolute NM- or NM condition both sides, clean and clear, with minimal spindle hole wear and very faint blemishes almost impossible to see at first sight. The sound is in strong EX or EX+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only minimal occasional soft crackles here and there, more evident in the silent parts, barely audible, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a great record with a very nice cover and still a glossy and clean look, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 52 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this record!!! And keep in mind this record has an UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE name of the band “The Pussy Cats”, so far I know only used here in Chile, and the most important, few hundreds were made!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
