COLLECTOR'S ITEM!! This is an extremely RARE vinyl promotional double LP from the legendary Ralph Records, The Residents' own private label. I was given this record, along with the entire Ralph catalog, personally back in 1982 when it came out. It was never offered for sale to the public, it was mainly for radio and friends. This LP is an original, and I am the sole owner.
The vinyl is as close to perfect as vinyl from 1982 can be; the fact is, it's been played only twice, and never all the way through. The cover is in very good shape - it's 35 years old, well cared for with all my other LPs, but it does show the yellow of age around the edges. See the photos.
The contents are a long rambling monolog by Penn Jillette, interspersed with short selections from the whole of Ralph's catalog at the time: a lot of Residents, plus Snakefinger, Tuxedo Moon, and so on. All are listed on the front cover.
If you're a fan of Penn Jillette, you'll love this. Here he is before the big success of Penn and Teller, before the Broadway shows and television specials. It's basically an improvisational monologue built on being locked in a motel room for a week while each day he receives a package of records he is to play through and then comment upon. Naturally the music gradually drives him mad.
