Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Rolling Stones, Beatles (and related) and 60’s beat records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare first U.K. STEREO pressing of The Rolling Stones – Beggars Banquet on the BLUE UNBOXED Decca label, cat. no. SKL 4955. This copy also has the rare “Patents Pending” credit on the back of the cover, printed just after the printers name (Garrod & Lofthouse).
The record is in VG condition, there are some non-sounding hairlines and a couple non-sounding marks. There is also a thin scratch that starts at the end of “Prodigal Son” and ends within the first minute of “Stray Cat Blues” which makes a very soft clicking sound. Most of this clickings get buried in he music and wasn’t disturbing at all. The labels are in VG+ condition, there are a couple spindle marks and there is some very slight wear along the spindle hole on side 2. The matrix endings on this record are 1K / 1K.
The cover is in VG+ condition, there is a tiny tear in the lower right hand corner on the front, there is a tiny name written on the sticker (this sticker says that this record contains “Sympathy for the Devil”, the record was sold in Holland this way) and there is a price sticker on the back. Besides all mentioned minor imperfections, this cover is in nice condition, no writing, no rips or tears or other unwanted damage.
The record comes with an original “Important, The Equipment and The Record” inner sleeve, which is in VG++ condition. It only has some age browning, some light handling wear and there is a retails stamp on both sides of this inner.
This is a very rare FIRST U.K. STEREO copy of the Rolling Stones’ Beggars Banquet album with the mega rare “Patents Pending” credit on the back. It would be very hard to find another copy with this 1st pressing with this credit, as “Patents Pending” was removed after a couple weeks of printing. A real opportunity for all Rolling Stones collectors to own a very first STEREO pressing of this album with 1st printed cover. Happy Bidding!
