Brief Info: Sticky Fingers is the ninth British and 11th American studio album by English rock band The Rolling Stones, released in April 1971. It is the band's first album of the 1970s and its first release on the band's newly formed label, Rolling Stones Records, after having been contracted since 1963 with Decca Records in the UK and London Records in the US. It is also Mick Taylor's first full-length appearance on a Rolling Stones album, the first Rolling Stones album not to feature any contributions from guitarist and founder Brian Jones and the first one on which Mick Jagger is credited with playing guitar.
The album is often regarded as one of the Stones' best, containing songs such as the chart-topping "Brown Sugar" and the folk-influenced "Wild Horses", and achieving triple platinum certification in the US
Cover Front: The front, with its iconic Warhol artwork looks brilliant. The only visible wear are three creases in and around the ‘upper zip’ area. Strong rich colour with no fading.
Cover Back: Virtually unblemished apart from the top right hand corner having a minor scuff.
Cover Inner : The inside picture cover (not gatefold) is visible, and one can see the Warhol marking relatively easily.
Top Edges: Light patchy rubbing, both straight.
Bottom Edges: Light rubbing to both.
Spine and Text: Solid and quite straight with some mild compression. Also folded square, so the edges meet up quite closely together and parallel. However, there is some patchy moderate rubbing in places, most near the ends and a little of the text is eroded, but most is still present and easy to read.
Corners: Slight rubbing to all, shape definition is retained.
Cover Summary: This remains a marvellous example of this unique original 70’s cover, one that could prove quite difficult to find significantly better.
The Inner Insert: EXCELLENT. One side shows a black and white shot of the band and the reverse has a large shot of the classic ‘tongue’ symbol plus track listings.
Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: EXCELLENT(–): a pristine visual copy that is clean, shiny, intense black and is robustly pressed.
Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This classic record plays above its visual grading with little to fault. Strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear - sound quality is very high with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound. Any surface sounds are mainly light and very infrequent; the odd trace on the quiet passage here and there, enough to remind it is a record being played, not a clinical digital format.
