ORIGINAL 1957 PRESSING

The most sought after Living Stereo release of all time. Serious collectors are well aware of the significance of these platters. Good Luck! And as always at National Vinyl - No Reserve - as promised.

A portion of the picture on the front cover of the box of the the two dancers (Margot Fonteyn & Michael Somes) has been torn away. See the pictures for details. There are two instances of extremely minor discoloration in the form of small smudges that can probably be cleaned off. There are a couple of very tiny dents along the bottom edge of the box. The canvas covered box has retained its original mustard yellow coloring with no fading to speak of. The faux leather, hardboard, gold print inlaid spine is in super fine condition with no defects. The rich, burgandy inner cardboard LP holder is also in great shape with only some minor wear along the edges and a small instance of a scribble in pen (1/4 inch in size)

The 5x12 "Royal Ballet Gala Performances" insert card that details the selections and their respective album sides is in good shape with minor wear to the edges, particularly on the upper right corner which has a slight dog-ear.

The 23 page book shows moderate signs of wear to the front and rear covers. The front cover suffers from a significant dog-ear to the upper right corner. The rear cover suffers from some minor smudging and a very small tear along the bottom edge. The inner pages are excellent.

The LP's have been enjoyed by a considerate listener.
Side 1: VG+ with signs of very light paper sleeve scuffs and a very tiny production flaw (bubble less than 1/16 of an inch) that will most likely sound. Deep dark lustre. No spindle marks. Crisp clean label. "4S".
Side 4: VG+ with fewer indications of paper sleeve scuffs and a very light, short scratch. Also deep lustre, no spindle marks and crisp clean labels. "1S"
Side 2: VG+ with minor paper sleeve scuffs and an extremely light scratch that does not sound. No spindle marks or signs of wear at all on the crisp bright label. "1S"
Side 3: STRONG VG with a very light scratch - about 1/2 way through the Swan Lake/Act II piece that sounds lightly. Very light paper sleeve scuffs. Deep dark lustre, clean labels, no spindle marks. "1S"

In summary, the listener should expect to hear some light surface noise and in the instances noted above, the light clicking of a shallow scratch or two. Highly enjoyable recording and a feast for the ears. Please email us with any questions regarding this set prior to bidding.
