THE SHADES OF BLUE (1966)


The Shades of Blue were a soul group from Detroit that got their big break when Edwin Starr took them under his wing and helped them get a deal with the new Impact Records label. Their song "Oh How Happy" launched them into the charts in May of 1966, and they followed it with several other singles for Impact.

This album came a little later that year, building on the hit song, and filled with soul tracks like "Happiness" and the killer ballad "The Night.”

This is an original deep groove pressing on Impact, in STEREO.
