Description

THE SPIES My Radio b/w Bad Girl 7" (Giant Squid, 1982)

"I've only got three dollars and I wanna live in squaller right now!"

Ungodly rare Houston single from '82. Rumored that only 100 were pressed. Very rarely surfaces, and almost never complete with original foldover cover and insert as we have here. The paper has minor creasing and minimal discoloration from age. Record looks beautiful! This one is gonna skyrocket in value as more collectors discover it's sheer greatness. Both sides are seriously catchy power pop with a real punk attitude and hysterical lyrics. And you know it's made in Texas from the line "I'm looking for a girl who hasn't got a fear, I'm looking for a girl who drinks Shiner beer." Yep, this record rips! There's no telling the next time one will turn up, so bid hard!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Records are securely packaged in brand new cardboard mailers with insert pads, with the vinyl removed from their covers to avoid seem splits or other potential harm. We do our part to ensure the safety of your purchase, but sometimes the post office does not do theirs. We are not responsible for any items that are lost or damaged in transit, therefore we require insurance for any orders that exceed $50 (it's around $2 for every $100 of protection). Please note that insurance is also available (and recommended) for smaller orders to guarantee your protection. Likewise, Registered Mail may be required on international orders over $50.

GRADING SCALE
We conservatively grade all records under very bright lighting and perceive paper scuffs that may not have be noticed otherwise as flaws that could downgrade a record. Refer to our Grading Scale below as it is not Goldmine Standard. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed!

M (Mint)
We do not grade any records as Mint.

NM (Near Mint)
Sealed records or opened ones that are nearly perfect.

EX (Excellent)
Records were carefully handled and seldom played. Covers will have sharp corners and only slight imperfections. There may be some light scuffs or a couple very light scratches on the record.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)
Some signs of use such as mild ring wear, slight rips, or writing on the cover. The records will have some visible scuffs or scratches that should not be audible.

VG (Very Good)
Covers have either ring wear, moderate seam splits, stains, or other signs of repeat handling. The vinyl will have numerous light scratches that may be audible but not overpowering.

VG- (Very Good Minus)
Covers may have water damage, significant shelf wear, or entire seam splits. Scratches on the record will be deeper and more present, likely causing clicks and pops with the possiblity of skipping.

G (Good)
This is what you call a beater copy and should only be reserved for rare records and place holders as vinyl will have deep scratches that may be felt with a finger nail and likely cause skipping.
