Description

This is a rare Columbia Records recording of the famous aviatrix Amy Johnson talking about her epic flight from England to Australia in her DH Moth G-AAAH 'Jason' between May 3 and 24, 1930 - some 82 years ago!

The record is intact but does bear some small scars. It does play with the usual clicks and scratches. The label says'The Story of my Flight (Speed78) Recorded in Sydney (N.S.W.) by Miss Amy Johnson, C.B.E at the conclusion of her England - Australia Flight (By Special Permission of the London Daily Mail)'.

The reverse side is The Band of H.M.Royal Air Force playing the Royal Air Force March Past. This side also has a sticker applied 'Banned For Broadcasting'. A fabulous reminder of an outstanding woman and  pioneer aviator.
