ORIGINAL UK PRESIDENT (PTL 1018) FIRST (and only) PRESSING (1968) IN MONO OF THE SYMBOLS' ONE AND ONLY UK RELEASE "The Best Part Of The Symbols" - FANTASTIC BRITISH BEAT/POP IN SUPERB (POSSIBLY COMPLETELY UNPLAYED) CONDITION AND SOUNDING AS BRIGHT AND FRESH TODAY AS IT DID WAY BACK WHEN - GREAT STUFF

Formed in the early 1960s prior to the Beat Boom explosion, The Symbols honed their craft in the back waters of East London earning a reputation as one of the region's best live draws. With near-constant gigging and a knack for incorporating the catchiest of US hits within their set, the boys - John Milton (vocals), Mick Clarke (bass guitar), Shaun Corrigan (lead guitar) and Clive Graham (drums - later Chas Wade) - caught the attention of the newly-formed President label, which swiftly led to their covering The Happenings' US smash See You In September in 1966.
Their 4th single introduced them to the UK charts, a version of the Four Seasons' earlier US hit, Bye Bye Baby and in so doing inadvertently laid down the blueprint for what would become the Bay City Rollers' No.1 some 8 years later.
'The Best Part Of The Symbols' heralded their only UK LP release and after just one more single in 1968, the band's brief tenure with President was over

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright and unmarked with no spindles or signs of use - this copy has possibly never been played - MINT
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces still retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are practically unmarked - NEAR MINT
VINYL Audio: Sensational audio delivery in every respect - crystal clear, sharp and fresh sound - beautifully recorded and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and I loved every sunny, upbeat minute of this one) there are no scratches, no sticks/jumps, no surface noise and no clicks or pops - this is a very, very clean pressing which plays to just about the highest possible standard with great clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion, sounds wonderful and is graded MINT for audio - great copy of this fabulous LP of bright, breezy Brit beat/pop
SLEEVE: The flipback sleeve has a beautiful glass-like gloss to the front surface with very little rubbing and a clean, fresh and unmarked back. All edges are shape and crisp and the spine (pinched at the top and bottom) is straight and true with no wear and all text clear and bold - NEAR MINT
