The TENANTS - Don't Blame Me / Sporting Life
Sydney punk rock band released this one and only single in 1979.
Recorded in 1979 at Now Studios in Oxford Street Darlinghurst, on a 4 track tape machine. Just 500 copies were pressed independently.
The sound has punk elements, with splattering of early Scientists sounds, and the beginning of 'Don't Blame Me' kinda reminds me of Aussie band, X. There is a clip someone has uploaded on youtube.
The vinyl looks VG++,some very slight surface scratches, but Side 1 has a small gash (see photo). I played it before listing to make sure how it would affect play.. you do hear some clicks, but in my opinion doesn't distract from the overall sound and feel. It didn't skip or jump. I do use a 1960 Philips valve radiogram, but the arm is made of light plastic.
Rare Aussie single which rarely comes up for sale.
