Incredible example of the fantastic absolutely perfect unplayed copy of the album that has become a legend still in the factory sealed condition. I am starting the auction without the "Make Offer" option, but I am open to offers and want to say right away that I'll end the auction as soon as I receive an offer corresponding to the real price of this outstanding super rare copy. This copy is one of the very early 1st pressings as it has a 1st state version uncensored Andy Warhol banana sticker iconic cover. The back cover displays a flipped fully visible "torso" image of the journalist Eric Emerson. The rarest of all of the cover versions, after Emerson threatened the label with a lawsuit the company started covering up the "torso" image with a black sticker. During March and April of 1967 this cover was being withdrawn and reappeared for sale only a few months after with a black sticker covering the "torso" of Emerson on the back cover. The heavy weight cardboard gatefold cover remains in the fully sealed tight factory shrink wrap after 52 years, having two breathe holes, one on each side. The cover has all of the four sharp corners and perfect rigid spine. The top right corner of the front cover contains a large "Bonanza" price sticker with the "$4.79" price affixed to the shrink wrap. It's hard to believe that the album, which has played an enormous role in the development of rock music, achieved only the 171th place in the Billboard chart at the moment of its release. Such a low chart rating affected the sales and the sticker clearly reflects this situation as the price of the album was discounted to 97c. According to the weight of this issue, which is almost 400g, there is a heavy weight unflexible very early 1st press vinyl with the vivid blue labels containing a large silver sharp "T" Verve Records logo.
