I've been going thru my massive vinyl record collection this summer and pulling out some LPs that I thought that someone else would want for their collection. I've been collecting records for over 40 years and it's time to pass some of them on to the next generation of collectors.
This week on EBay I am offering up a nice, clean, 'Super Disk' audiophile version of the Who's classic album "Who Are You".
This was a fantastic Audiophile release at the time. It was mastered by Direct Disk Labs at the JVC cutting center at Half-Speed and fully Analog.
CONDITION: The vinyl still looks fantastic. The vinyl has light evidence of play and some very light inaudible surface marks but still looks great. A strong VG+, possibly better. The labels are clean, and the spindle holes show almost no evidence of play. An amazingly clean copy.
JACKET: The jacket is clean, bright and square. Clean, no ring wear. Great spine. No splits or damage. Some very mild creasing at the corners, and very minor corner bumping, but still very nice. Also a strong VG+, or better.

This was released with a 'Direct Disk' anti-static liner but that was lost somewhere along the line. This LP comes with a nice poly lined inner sleeve instead.
~~~~~ 1978's "Who Are You' was The Who's eighth overall and final studio album with drummer Keith Moon. Moon died on September 6, 1978, about three weeks after the release of this album.
This album was the Who's answer to the Punk movement that was sweeping the UK and America at the time. Hard classic rock but with some synthesizer to keep it 'current.'
This album was originally released in August of 1978 and reached #2 on the US charts.
The Album jacket is a classic and sort of sums up the band at the time. Keith was often un controlable and unreliable in the studio and Pete had had enough of his antics. There was talk of firing Keith and the front of this album jacket has the great photo by Terry O'Neill with Keith sitting backwards on a chair, hiding his huge swollen gut, with the sign that says ‘NOT TO BE TAKEN AWAY.’ and the words "Keep Clear" below him. He would soon succumb to his vices.
Side One of this classic album provides some of the best music of their career. This album proved that despite music changing, The Who were as relevant as ever. 
In classic Who fashion, the album’s closer is the best song on the album, the title track, “Who Are You.” 
“Who Are You” is pure rock and has become a Who classic. Released as a single, “Who Are You” reached the Top 20 in both the US and UK.
“Music Must Change” was Pete Townshend's comment on Disco and Punk at the time.
"Sister Disco” is a great song and leans towards classic era Who. 
Entwistle's playing on this album is terrific; rumbling lead bass solos carrying the riff and melody. Entwistle’s Bass sounds great on this Half-speed album.
Pete Townshend wrote off-beat but catchy songs and this album is full of them. This album is worth owning just for the classic Who hits it contains.
Listening to this album today, there's something fresh to hear. The Who were coming into their late 70s peak when this album was released. After this album, with Moon gone, The Who were essentially finished. 
It's one of the greatest Rock albums in the history of music. It's power and resonance are still timeless.
Add this classic, Who album to your collection today. It would make a great addition to any vinyl record collection.
