Description
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with an Elys cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. Any significant playing defects will be detailed in the description below. I know how disappointing it is to receive a record graded as excellent, only to find that listening pleasure is spoiled by endless pops, loud clicks and intrusive background crackle. I guarantee that you will not buy such a record from me!!
The winning bidder can expect to receive a clean record, carefully packaged, with the vinyl removed from the inner and outer sleeves to prevent splits in transit.
Here for auction is a lovely example of the album by THE WHO titled “WHO’S NEXTâ€. This is an ORIGINAL 1971 STEREO UK FIRST PRESSING on the TRACK RECORD LABEL, Catalogue Number 2408 102, with THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE MATRIX NUMBERS 2408 102 A//1 and 2408 102 B//2, and MG 12888 etched in the dead wax of Side 1. Complete with the RARE HEAD HUNTERS INNER SLEEVE. Extremely hard to find in this stunning condition!!
The fragile card sleeve, printed by MacNeill Press Ltd., is in VERY GOOD PLUS CONDITION. The front and back covers are UNMARKED apart from a few light creases (one crease across the bottom spine corner is a bit more noticeable against the matt black back cover). There is some light rubbing to the bottom edge and corners. The spine is solid with just a few creases and the ends neatly pinched as they should be. All text is CLEARLY LEGIBLE. There are no rips, stickers or writing. Overall a VERY PRESENTABLE SLEEVE!!
The SOLIDLY PRESSED vinyl retains much of its ORIGINAL LUSTRE, and sits flat and true on the turntable. Visually EXCELLENT with just very light surface marks (caused by taking the record in and out of the inner sleeve) which do not affect play. The matt black TRACK LABELS show a few spindle marks but are otherwise UNMARKED.
A critical play-grading on my REGA turntable, showed why these STEREO FIRST PRESSINGS are so SOUGHT AFTER. The CLARITY and POWER of the AMAZING SOUNDS that emanate from these FIRST PRESS GROOVES is VERY SPECIAL!!!
I have always been impressed by the quality of Track pressings and this LP does not disappoint. Both sides play SUPERBLY with ALL FREQUENCIES CRYSTAL CLEAR – SOUNDS SENSATIONAL!! There are NO jumps or pops, and a minimum of unwanted noise (never intrusive).
Complete with the ORIGINAL EXTREMELY RARE HEAD HUNTERS INNER SLEEVE which is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, showing only a few creases and light age discoloration at the top.
