THE WHO: Go To The Mirror ! / Sally Simpson: Track Records Pro 2 1969.
This Promotional UK Who single is one of the most notoriously difficult of all to obtain. Over the years, it has no doubt been the cause of a frustrating gap within many serious Who collections. This is a rare opportunity to add it to your collection.
In 1969, sales in the UK of The Who’s album ‘Tommy’ were initially slow. In order to generate interest in the album, Co-manager, Kit Lambert planned a series of four Promo singles hoping to gain wider exposure.
An idea was formulated that the album could be released in its entirety as a singles collection. However, the promo singles never spawned commercial counterparts due to lack of interest from Polydor, Tracks distributor.
The Pro series were pressed in extremely limited numbers. At 41 years old, this single is now incredibly hard to find and will not get any easier to track down with the passage of time.
The condition of this single using The Record Collectors’ guide to grading is
VG. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Go To The Mirror: Label is clean and in excellent condition
Sally Simpson: Spindle has very slight mark from where a small sticky label has been removed. Label is clean and in excellent condition.
