Description
Please read my description carefully before bidding. I will ship the item worldwide and will accept a free return if it doesn't match the listing description.
This one is a mono pressing of Thelonious Monk's BRILLIANT CORNER. Riverside Records RLP 12-226. This is an original issue from Riverside Records, released in 1957, not a reissue version. Blue Labels and Deep Groove on both labels. One of the best world class jazz titans lineup for Riverside Records. Rare item.
For me, this is one of the best of Monk's.
Thelonious Monk (piano), Sonny Rollins (tenor saxophone), Ernie Henry (alto saxophone), Clark Terry (trumpet), Oscar Pettiford and Paul Chambers (bass), Max Roach (drums).
The vinyl looks bright and glossy. I've played test this record on my system and it plays NM- on Side 1 (has some small background noise during some music passages of song no.2, just around 3-5% of the total, but not overpowering the music.) On Side 2, it plays beautifully NM.
The cover is rated VG+. Strong but has neat tapes on seams and paper loss on the back. The spine is intact and readable.
The record is play graded as well as visually. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. M (perfectly like new), NM, NM-/VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-. You will be satisfied.
