Description

Please read my description carefully before bidding.  I will ship the item worldwide and will accept a free return if it doesn't match the listing description.

This one is the first mono pressing of Thelonious Monk's THELONIOUS MONK HIMSELF. Riverside Records RLP 12-235. This is an original issue from Riverside Records, issued in 1957, not a reissue version.  White Labels and Deep Groove on both labels.  Very Rare in this condition.

Thelonious Monk on piano solo.  With John Coltrane (on tenor saxophone) and Wilbur Ware (on double bass) on Monk's Mood (of Song No.4 on Side 2).

The vinyl looks bright and glossy. Under the bright light, I saw really small scuffs on Side 1.  I've played test this record on my system and it plays smoothly NM- on both sides with some small background noises of around 3-5% of overall. No skipped, jumped, or stuck.

The cover is rated NM. Glossy.  Strong, no split or crack.  The spine is.  Just small bruise on the lower left corner. Small pencil writing on the back but just easily erase by rubber eraser. I will leave it to the new owner to make decision. Overall, nice.

The record is play graded as well as visually. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. M (perfectly like new), NM, NM-/VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-. You will be satisfied.
