Up for purchase is an original promotional copy of Time Fades Away, Neil Young’s 1973 live album consisting of previously unreleased material. Released in the US in 1973 on Reprise Records under catalog number MS 2151, this beautiful collector's LP includes the original 23"x 35" lyrics poster. The white label states "PROMOTION - NOT FOR SALE" and "This Recording Was Mastered 16- Track Direct To Disc by Computer - Aug. 22 & 23, 1973". Copyright – Warner Bros. Records, Inc. This is an early pressing; it is top-loading (the vinyl is inserted in the top, not the side) and inside the sleeve it is black. DeadWax: Side 1. MS 2151 31632-RE-2-1H; Side 2. MS 2151 31633-RE-2-1H.

Time Fades Away was Young's first live album, and was recorded with The Stray Gators on the tour following 1972's highly successful Harvest and has not been reissued on CD due to Young's dissatisfaction with that particular series of concerts. Time Fades Away received much critical praise, has been widely pirated and is highly sought after by fans. It was reissued on vinyl only as part of the Official Release Series Discs 5-8 Vinyl Box Set for Record Store Day 2014. The album is also available as a digital download for purchase through the PonoMusicWorld website. This is the original, authentic, first U.S. pressing; this is not a record club album, a reissue or a counterfeit pressing. No Bar Code. The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. The sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied and vivid - you cannot expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording.

The album is in very good condition with only a few superficial cosmetic marks that will not affect play. The vinyl still has all the shine and luster of new, and the labels are clean with no stickers or damage. The album cover is in very good+ condition, having light shelf wear and ringwear, but still a nice gloss. No splits, tears or writing. The inner sleeve is in very good condition with no splits, tears or writing. See photos for details. All of the records I am selling are from either my own personal collection or my brother's, and they have been in storage since the 1980's. One owner, from a smoke-free environment.
