This item is a rare DEMO copy on 7" vinyl of the rare Mod/Psych track 'Toffee Apple Sunday' by Toby Twirl. It is clearly labelled 'Demonstration Sample - Not For Sale' and the label also shows a release date of 5-7-68. I guess it would've originally come in an orange Decca company sleeve - if I can find one this'll be included but it'll probably be in a plain sleeve. As for the condition - in the picture, white marks can be seen at about 8 o'clock. This is some substance that is stuck in the grooves - I have tried to clean it out and, though some of it came off, some remains. Playing it over several times may get rid of it. The other white specks visible in the picture are dry bits of the kitchen towel I used to clean it and I've dusted them off. Otherwise, I can see only very limited surface marking - nothing that should really affect the sound quality on a nice deeply-grooved Sixties pressing like this. The B-side - 'Romeo and Juliet 1968' , also apparently a great tune, is in great condition with only limited surface marking on the lead-in groove to mar it. I've been buying and selling vinyl for over twenty-five years - I always try to describe it accurately and my feedback on the records I've sold in the past bears this out. I'm happy to answer any questions except requests for a buy-it-now price - I don't end auctions early as it seems unfair and it's no fun.

UPDATE!!!
Because of the interest in this...I've dusted off one of my 1210's, taken it out of the loft and played this through...and it sounds just as good as I would expect "a nice deeply-grooved Sixties pressing" to sound. Importantly, the stylus goes straight through whatever the white marking is without it affecting the sound at all. It sounds great, with a good bass sound and the organ and brass shining through.
Also...I found out that another demo. copy of this single made £535 on eBay last year...let's see how much this one makes...Happy Bidding, AL.
