TOM MAROLDA - ME- OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME SUPER RARE ORIGINAL PRESSING
This is a very nice rare , original, private pressing of Tom Martolda's first LP "Me- Out For The First Time". Although I have heard only 100 of these were pressed , I cannot confirm this but I do know that this record rarely shows its face for sale anywhere. If you aren't familiar with the name, then you might remember the great power pop records released in the 80's by The Toms. whose original pressing are also very collectible and desired. Same guy, but this record is much different and closer to Yes, Gentle Giant with a little Zappa mixed in for good measure than the power pop of The Toms. Legend has to that this record was recorded in 1973-74 as a demonstration for Tom's studio, at the time located in Mercerville, NJ. If that is true, then this is a good demonstration record as the record has nice production values, good drum sounds and Martolda is certainly more than competent on all the instruments he plays.
The record is in very decent shape and looks like it was played very few times. Plays nicely with minimal background noise. A few minor clicks here and there but nothing that interferes greatly with the enjoyment of this very very rare LP. Although I would conservatively grade this as A VG, mostly it plays like a VG+ record.
The jacket appears to have had split seams at some point which were repaired. I will not ry to force the record into the jacket and don't recommend this. Some of the spine paper is missing for a few inches near the top and there is no spine writing seen. The rest of the jacket is decent with no writing, stickers, or stains.
