SOUL THING / LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by TONY NEWMAN musical direction by KEITH MANSFIELD. Original ITALIAN pressing on DECCA label (F 13041), from 1970. Outstanding, UK mod funk double-sider from the cult session drummer with psychedelic jazz orchestrations / screaming Mohawks rhythm section / hip hop kicks and drum breaks. This is the little known Italian picture sleeve issue ;) Features the alternative funky version of SOUL THING (different to the version on All You Need Is Keith Mansfield Lp / KPM Flamboyant Themes and KPM Beat Incidental Library / Arzachel prog Lp / James Royal 45 and The Carnaby Street Pop Orchestra And Choir Lp). LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL is another top period piece with obsessive pumping bassline / groovy horns / wah wah and lots of drum rolls / fills and breaks too. Super-heavy drumming over the closing 30 seconds. A perfect example of the Swinging London / Carnaby Street / Soho discotheque sound. Great for DJs. Booming production. Amazing picture sleeve artwork showing Tony on his kit ;) For us, the Italian release is the most obscure and desirable issue of this recording. Seldom comes up for sale. Very rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) with a few hairlines and mini scuffs from storage / sleeve removal. Some light surface noises. Booming production sound. A couple of soft pops to fading seconds of "Let The Good Times Roll" side. Old removed sticker mark shadow with some wear to one side of label (see photo). The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition (closer to M-) regardless of some mini wear marks to the open side and some corner and edge wear in places. Light ring creasing. Some ring dirt marks to back sleeve. Very rare 45!!!
