ATOMIC ROOSTER
..|/\|...............................................|/\|.. JAPAN -Stateside Records - SP 80186
VERY RARE ... 1970 ORIGINAL SUPER-SOUND PRESSING in THICK gatefold cover ... by far and away superior to the USA issue (and others) ... The 48+ years ago first issue on the Stateside label is considered considerably harder to find than the UK, German or USA pressing and is valued, this issue, at $150+ in the least, our Japanese sources advise.
Scarce LYRICS insert included! Not available with ANY other release of the same album, any country.
The GATEFOLD art design follows the B&C UK recording issued the same year. Arguably the BEST Atomic Rooster album ...it's dark and doomy with killer gushing Hammond organ & dirty distortion guitar all the way through!

"DEATH WALKS BEHIND YOU; the 1970 grimicing-forboding ripper by ATOMIC ROOSTER featuring dominating infectious tracks drenched in gushing organ, fiery guitar and tight driving rhythms...
Whatta sound !!! Definitely the heaviest Atomic Rooster. Though the album has some progressive rock elements and can be put into that genre, it is done in a very heavy dark Black Sabbath-ish tone, categorized as hard heavy prog. Vincent Crane's keyboard playing is outstanding. He showcases his dynamic skills with gushing organ moves all over the place, and the strong songwriter he was. This album is one of the heaviest progressive rock albums in history and one of the best (May even be considered one of the first Progressive heavy-rock albums). "Death Walks Behind You", "Tomorrow Night", "Sleeping For Years" & "I Can't Take No More" are hard rock treats and "Vug", "7 Streets" (with the very heavy organ intro) and "Gershatzer" are prog/psych classics. Never a dull moment, John Cann's wirey guitar (which is drenched in the dirty distortion sound) is the perfect ingrediant in battling with Crane's organ throughout this gem....
