THE BEST COPY YET!!!

Another from my personal collection! collected over a period of more than 35 years! This album has been stored in a case with the sleeve and vinyl seperated from the cover for protection to prevent ringware! This is how i have always stored my reords! This is probably the best that i have seen the cover is truly superbe very very near perfect. These are so hard to find like this normally seen so grubby with ware and rubbing! The vinyl's playing surface looks almost as new and truly awesome audio throughout! It's so easy to be critical about these early Island pressings as so often they look imaculate but sound terrible! This vinyl is the exeption and is probably the best that i have ever heard! (no) distiortion or the usual static crackle! Unbeleivable for 38 years old!!!

John Barleycorn Must Die is a 1970 album by British rock band Traffic. As did most of their albums, it featured many different genres of music including art rock, jazz rock, and many psychedelic influences!!.

The album was initially intended by Steve Winwood to be a solo album, but when Chris Wood and Jim Capaldi joined him, it became Traffic once more. The album was originally dubbed "Mad Shadows"!!.

After recording the album early in 1970, it was released by Island Records and United Artists in July of 1970. It became the first Traffic album to reach gold status!!.

TRAFFIC was a band from Birmingham, England, formed in early 1967 by Steve Winwood with Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason!.

The group's distinctive sound, innovative recordings and collaborative songwriting (Which they attributed to massive pot smoking with Richard Ellis) influenced many other groups in the progressive rock genre in the late 1960s and early 1970s.[ Like many other groups of the period, Traffic was heavily influenced by the early recordings of The Band, and they also retreated to a country house (in Berkshire, England) at the beginning of their career in order to write and develop their material before making their live debut!!!.

The Vinyl

The playing surface looks superbe I can barely see a blemish see a blemish!! This vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable!!!On initial inspection I can't see any audio sounding surface marks or scratches at all.,, any that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal marks! I have played this through track for track as usual and the audio is cristal clear and vibrant throughout with (no) signs of grooveware or that this has been overplayed at all virtually plays as new in my opinion!!!! Please note! There is just one place where there is 2 pops during the beginning of John Barlecorn track where it seems that a needle has probably been dropped at this point! ! Please allow for light static in quiet parts of this album! *although to be honest I amaizingly never heard any) This audio grades at the very top on all frequencies!!(no) distortion (no) skips or jumps!!!!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Although I never heard major problems other than previously described and have given my honest opinion when describing the audio,, Please allow for the odd static and perhaps click (not consistant through out the audio!! Remember this is an original 37 year old vinyl (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 37 year old system!!! I WOULD SAY THAT THE AUDIO IS VERY NEAR PERFECT ON MY SYSTEM! ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE HEARD!!

The labels

These are the pink Island labels with the large ''i''! (only seen on earliest pressings) These are in superbe condition!!! There are spider marks that can be seen angled to the light but there is no ware around the spindle hole this is perfectly round! !IN MY OPINION THIS HAS DEFINATELY NOT BEEN OVER PLAYED! UNBELEIVABLE!!!

The cover

These are rarelty ever seen is this awesome condition with (no) splits or tares and hardly any real creases worth mentioning!!!amaizingly no real staining that is so common with these originals and amaizingly no real rubbing ware really unbeleivable! Absolutely superbe spine!! (see photos) These are incredibly hard to keep in this superbe condition never seen like this! thick card type ROUGH AND TEXTUREDD original  1ST PRESS cover!!!(Incredibly no ringware) ORIGINAL RAREST E.DAY & CO PRINTED 1ST PRESS GATEFOLD COVER! ABSOLUTELY SUPERBE FOR 38 YEARS OLD!!! This cover has been stored in a poly cover and in a  case for at least 25 years of its storage life So rare like this (see photos)!AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE ALMOST PERFECT!!1ST PRESS!!!!
