Description
TRAFFIC - self titled
A lovely copy of this 1968 UK 1st press Traffic rock gem, with just a few minor blemishes only and every track still a great listen
Year/Label : UK Island 1968
Label number : ILPS 9081T
Matrix numbers : ILPS 9081 T A//2 / ILPS 9081 T B//5
Stampers : 9 / 1 6
Excellent (EX) - at least - condition weighty and completely flat glossy vinyl still retaining a beautiful jet black sheen with just a couple of very wispy hairlines and faintest of faint small paper scuffs on each side, only identifiable with close scrutiny under a bright light - each non-feelable, strictly surface only and purely superficial. Excellent plus (EX+) condition pink Island 1st press iconic "eyeball" labels with just a few small and extremely faint spindle trails on each. Very good plus (VG+) condition original non-laminated gatefold outer sleeve with stapled 8 page booklet. No cardboard creasing, but there is some mild intermittent scuffing on the bottom edges and a couple of minor scuff marks on the top edge. The corners remain well defined right angles but there is noticeable rubbing on each and although there is a little scuffing at either end of the spine along with a few light "nicks" the spine itself remains firm with all text nicely intact. There is some mild age discolouration on the reverse side and again towards the edges on the inside of the gatefold - minor but noticeable. The 8 page booklet, stapled to the inside of the gatefold remains all in one piece - virtually unmarked actually - and all sleeve text, photos and artwork retain great definition. Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO sound quality with no skips, repeats, jumps, clicks, interference, or background crackle - brilliant throughout, with great tone and clarity and every track a great listen. Why don't they make music like this any more?! Comes with plain white poly-lined inner sleeve - not the original.
A Traffic classic - timeless!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
