FORMAT............ RARE UK FIRST PRESS VINYL LP .
AS ALL JAZZ COLLECTORS WILL KNOW-THIS IS A VERY RARE LP.WITH THE MATRIX OF 1B AND 2B ON THE TEMPO LABEL. IT IS A VERY FIRST PRESSING FROM 1957 THAT WAS PROBABLY LIMITED TO UNDER 500 MADE. ON AVERAGE,ONE PER YEAR COMES UP FOR SALE..IF THAT.
The key features of this lp are summarised below:
Sleeve- Fully laminated West brothers flipback sleeve.Shows usual age wear,marks and creases.
There is a small tear to the opening near the top.
Some wear to the spine.
Overall- Respectable for its age.
Inner-The record comes in its original plastic inner.Has creases and is torn at the joints but still very much in one piece.
Labels- The Made in England Tempo labels are clean.
Vinyl- *** PLEASE NOTE- SADLY THERE ARE ODD NASTY MARKS/SCRATCHES ON THE TRACK "WAIL".FIRST TRACK SIDE TWO.THIS CAUSES JUMPS AND STICKS SO THIS TRACK SHOULD NOT BE PLAYED ***
Otherwise,the vinyl looks nice with only minor scratches and marks.
Playback- As I have said,sadly,the track "Wail" cannot be played. However.the other tracks play with a great sound with only odd minor ticks in places.
Apart from "Wail",the vast majority plays well and it is still a pleasure to play.
A great lp- Jazz history.Not to be missed.
