Tumblack - 1978 - Barclay - France.
First album by west indian percussion band "Tumblack", on french Label Barclay for the "Paco Rabanne" série. Tumblack use traditional percussions from them country: Ka in different level Bass & Medium & chorus. The first side is a traditional tribal work, percussions + chants. But the second is more interesting for euro groove lovers cause they combine caribbean rhytms with cosmic disco/funk sound, resulting by the apport of french musicians who are "Voyage" band (Arpadys musicians), Jacques Bolognesi, Toni Russo(Trumpets), yves Hayat (synthetiser) , members of "Droid" band & others. The result is a mad Afro-disco fuzion side. Terrific drums break all the way, listen the fireworks of ka & multi modern instruments giving tribal groove. Very good material for DJ Don't miss it. Music speaks better than words… listen to the soundclip !
