Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto Campoli Argenta UK Decca WBG ED1 Stereo SXL 2029 LP
Virtuoso Violinist Alfredo Campoli, Rare Audiophile sought after UK 1st pressing on the Decca Wide Band Grooved "Original Recording" Stereo Label SXL 2029
Visually under very bright light the vinyl is a nice clean example with a bright sheen, has numerous light wispy play traces and paper removal scuff traces. There is a paint speck to the opening of side 2. (Visually VG+/EX-) the record has been cleaned on my Okki Nokki machine and plays bold bright and crisp with great rich tone (as is to be expected from a top-quality early Decca Stereo Recording), a lovely record. There is a little light surface noise occasionally – particularly to the opening of side 1 (which doesn’t particularly affect the audio experience), some occasional static ticks. There are approximately 4 or 5 soft clicks to the opening of side 2 from the paint speck, otherwise there are no particular audio flaws. The record may improve with further cleaning. Labels are clean, numerous light spindle marks, VG+
The sleeve has lots of general wear, and laminate wear, particularly to the edges. Some discolouration to the rear, see photos. VG+
