Description

An original 1st stereo press of Cricklewood Green on the UK Deram label. Matrix 1W/1W. Stampers 1A/1H - which puts this LP amongst the first 5,000 ever produced. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover with peephole. Also included is the original Decca blue inner sleeve date coded to April 1970 [04-70] - which is the month of release. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with prefect clarity. The audio quality is nothing short of astonishing. Lot of transparency and dynamics - just what you'd hope from an early copy. Interference, thankfully is minimal. All we could detect were a few light crackles in the first two tracks on the second side. But don't let this put you off - you have to even concentrate to even hear them. We're just being fully upfront about their existent. Even in these tracks playback is still great.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and these unlaminated soft-card covers usually are beaten up by this stage of their life. This copy has survived better than many examples. Nice clean front with one slight crease. The rear looks great too with just a small sticker removal mark in the top-left. The interior looks great with just lightest handling wear. Edge wear is light and just a bit showing on the spine - all the text is still legible though. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity and remains a top example.
