Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!

UK first-issue (and apparently first press) copy of Terry Reid's first album, from 1969. There are two label variants for first-issue copies of this album, with different credits for writing the magnificent "Stay With Me Baby" - one wrong, and one correct (Ragavoy and Berns). This one has the wrong version. Logically, a mistake, once discovered, is corrected, so the version with the wrong credit must be before the corrected one. Features his song "Rich Kid Blues", which fans of The Raconteurs will recognise.

Cover - is intact, not split or torn - front-laminated, with flipbacks. Front is quite good, but has approx. seven scallop creases, a bend at top right, small bend bottom right, some wear on the corners, and creases in from the edges (as we often see..). There is ring-wear, in two circles, taking the shine off the lamination. Spine is very good. Back has circles that follow the ring-wear, and some spots and small stains - look at my photo. Initials in pen bottom right.

Record - far from perfect, but not scratched-all-over and not beaten-grey from being played on something unsuitable. Visual inspection first, then a word about a rating.. Side one has a small heavy impact on track 2, and a fingernail mark across track 1 into track 2. There are other marks on track 1 - one of which is large, and looks like that thing we see where a poly-lined inner has been pressed hard against the record for a long time.  There's a scratch going from track 4 into track 5. Side two has various light surface marks and a big scuff, and a noticeable heavy fingernail mark on track 3.

This came to me from someone who sometimes bought at record fairs. It comes with a note from the seller at such an event, saying "side 1 VG+, side 2 VG- Cover VG+". Record hasn't gotten any worse in the years I've had it - I only played it once, and it's been kept with care. I have just finished doing a play-test on it - it doesn't skip or catch, mostly sounds good but is crackly in quiet parts, and some isolated other crackles / clicks. Not wrecked, but if you can't stand crackling, don't get involved..

A top copy of this could go for £100. I will start this auction at £30.

When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.

Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer with two stiffener sheets of cardboard. Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs would still be the same charge, £3.50.

Dispatch will usually be "next day".

I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.

They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.

This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.

E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery and customs charges are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges individually for the items, then do not bid.

Overseas customers - please DON'T request an invoice - there is no combined postage, I can't make one, and it screws-up the e-bay system.

International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.

If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.

Applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country, wherever import duty is appropriate. If you don't want to pay the customs charges, do not bid.

I don't send to China (because I prefer not to), and I also don't send to Japan, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, as importation of vinyl records is not permitted in their customs regulations.
