On offer here, is a copy of the band's debut album with 1st pressed labels and cover, which I have described in detail below
1963 - Mono 1st Pressing PMC 1202 XEX 421-1N / 422-1N 1-L / 1-0
Visually
GOOD
The vinyl displays no groove whitening and still has a reasonable amount of sheen - there are many surface lines, some from the needle but most from careless handling where the disc has been laid down on a rough or dirty surface (as in the photo, above) - although the whole disc is marked by these lines, they are light and not feelable with the fingertip - also, surprisingly, there are no scuffs - the disc lies 100% flat
Audio:
GOOD
A mixed bag here but I will described the sound exactly as I hear it
The good news: the disc plays from start to finish without any skips or repeats - there is background crackle throughout, more prevalent on the run ins and quieter sections, probably caused by a worn out needle and some of the lines - overall, the sound is still strong and powerful, making the crackle fade into the background, most of the time
Side 1: Tracks 1 & 2 have occasional distortion (fuzziness) in places but this disappears through the remaining tracks
Side 2: No distortion and generally sounding brighter, being played less frequently than side 1
This 1st pressing is still rare and collectible in any condition, and although you will hear crackle throughout, it is has no skips or stalls, unlike most copies

Reasonably good for this original pressing - both sides display the incorrect 'Dick James' credits on the songs that should be 'Northern Songs' - unusually,the gold lettering on side 1 has survived well, side 2 has faded, which is usually the case
Dick James published the single Please Please Me / Ask Me Why but just prior to the release of this album, John,Paul,Brian Epstein and Dick James, formed Northern Songs Ltd., so the 4 new McCartney/Lennon compositions should have carried the new publishing credits, later corrected on all subsequent issues.
Cover:
VG EJ Day genuine 1st issue with Mr Bean in the extreme corner - made from very thick card, this has survived better than most - notorious for disintegrating flip backs, this example has remained largely intact - a previous owners name (see photo) - the spine is perfect
Inner sleeve:

Correct polythene lined 'Patents Applied For' 'Made In Great Britain' issue - earliest possible, made from thick paper - completely intact - age toning
All records are thoroughly cleaned and I will of course, continue with the surreal requirement of separating the disc from the cover, even though they have been together now for over 50 years and have left a lasting impression :-)
