Description
The Beatles - 2nd State Butcher Cover Stereo ST 2553 Yesterday and Today NO RESERVE!
Here's a nice copy of this highly sought after Beatles rarity. If you are reading this you already know the story. I'll spare you those details and stick to the more important ones regarding the condition of this LP.
The paste-over was applied haphazardly as you can clearly see the original cover peeking through for close to 5" along the bottom seam, closest to the spine. The "V" neckline of Ringo is very clear in the middle portion of the right edge of the paste-over. There is an unknown light brown stain on the left middle and upper portions of the cover. There is an 1" circular white record store sticker in this same area. There is an approximately 6" lower seam split running from the middle to the jacket opening. None of the four corners have been attempted to be peeled, which is astonishing considering you can see the original cover so clearly along the bottom portion of the cover. The top seam and spine are clean with no tears. There is no noticeable ring-wear on the front cover. The three corners that do not have a seam split are fairly sharp. The rear cover shows light staining in a few places, mostly along the right side, near the spine. The number 5 is in the lower right corner.
The original orange Capitol "66 inner sleeve is in good shape with no rips or tears. The labels are the Capitol Rainbow band labels and the spindle hole is very clean. The vinyl shows a nice gloss on both sides and features only minor scuffing. I spot played all the tracks and the record plays clean with occasional light noise during the more quiet tracks and passages.
