Description
An original 1st issue of AHDN on the UK Parlophone label from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N. To be considered 1st issue it needs to show 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text and 'recording 1st published' too. It is, however, not what is considered earliest 1st press. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen a light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Even the quieter paired down tracks play really nice and clean. Interference is mostly absent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. A beautifully preserved 1st press copy...impressive!
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has been looked after down the years. Nice clean front without any major issues. The rear has escaped the worst of the ageing process, but is noticeable in a couple of spots. Then there's just a small tape repair which has been internally repaired down in the bottom left corner [at the opening]. The spine is pretty much entirely intact. Overall the cover retains very nice rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and a couple of side splits which have been taped up.
