Description

An original 1st stereo press of AHDN on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Please note the following characteristics of the label identify this example as genuine very 1st pressing..Firstly, Parlophone is mentioned in the perimeter text and then 'recording 1st pub' is still exhibiting too, the final indicator for very 1st press is the wide bodied chubby font employed. Do bear in mind that at 1st release, in 1964, 'Stereo' was still a very scarcely used format. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue stereo G&L cover. We will house the record in an anti-static inner sleeve for safe transit.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen a light to moderate level of use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, and one impact [heavy] mark on side 2 which does sound [details below].  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one noticeable deviation. By and large a very nice and clean player with not all that much to complain. A few crackles in the odd spot, but nothing that noticeable or persistent. The one deviation is an impact mark in 'Happy To Dance With You'. It's about 5mm in size and is positioned at the end of the track. As you approach the final 30 seconds of the track expect a few clicks and one non-repeating skip. The skip renders half the final line of vocal inaudible "to dance with you". It plays through into the next tracks so, whilst the mark looks nasty, its overall effect on the end of the track is fairly limited, luckily. Overall a great little player and if you can live with that one issue the rest of the LP will thoroughly impress.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has been looked after down the years. Very nice and cleean front with a couple of thumbnail reases. There's a knock/break above the letter "S" in "BEATLES". It has torn slightly, but I have repaired and secured it internally so it's nothing more than a cosmetic issue now. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the ageing process and all flipbacks are secure - no hidden problems. The spine exhibits a couple of stress crease, but they are minor and overall the text is legible and it looks very nice. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
