Description
A 1st of the 1st pressings of AHDN on the UK Parlophone label from 1964. Matrix 3N/3N. Stampers 5-GHT/6-GOL. The record labels exhibit the chubby font of the very first pressing run of AHDN. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an early cover printed by Ernest J. Day. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% original and 100% complete...and blindingly well preserved.
Vinyl (Ex+) Shiny like new and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with prefect clarity. We didn't detect more than a couple of light crackles the whole way through - this is very unusual. Playback is absolutely stunning - I do not believe there is a better way of hearing this BEATLES classic.
Cover (Ex+) In stunning condition and has clearly been looked after very carefully. The front is lovely and shiny and devoid of any nasty creases. The rear is almost entirely free of the ageing which afflicts most other examples. The flipbacks are all intact and overall the cover maintains excellent rigidity. That spine is 100% intact and there's almost no sign of edgewear. Difficult to imagine finding a better copy really.
Emitex (Ex) Light ageing, but no splits.
