THE BEATLES - 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'


This immaculate and scarce UK stereo pressing dates from 1968 on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3058

Both labels have the 'Sold in UK...' text and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd...' worded rims.

Matrices: YEX 126-1 & YEX 127-2*

* The -2 side 2 matrix is seldom seen on this pressing. Audio analysis of its opening track, 'Anytime At All', shows that the song's distinctive opening drum 'crack' is slightly shorter than on the -1 cut having been trimmed too much at the start.  Not a huge difference, but for anyone who is familiar with the track, the difference is noticeable.

House in a front laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover with a 'small' front stereo indicator.

Complete with original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.

An immaculate, unworn set which even retains a sliver of the silver centre hole marker on side 2.

Visual: MINT -

Pristine, factory-fresh playing surfaces bearing just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines beneath halogen light.

Audio: MINT

Flawless & wonderful sound quality throughout.

Cover: MINT -

This superb example retains a fine high-gloss front panel which is clean & unworn with just two light 'thumbnail' wrinkles but no scratching or rubbing to the laminate. There is minor shelfwear to the corner tips but the upper two and both opening edges are completely unworn. The exposed rear panel is pristine white with no wear or blemishes to any part. Both seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine is in perfect condition.
