Description

An original 1st press of AR on the UK Apple label from 1969. Matrix 2/1 - very 1st cut. Please note the very 1st AR copies are identifiable by the absence of the 'Her Majesty' credit on the labels. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover, but with the mis-aligned Apple logo on the rear. This, effectively, is the 1st variation to exist for this title. At 1st release they decided to re-align the text and the logo for all future copies. We also have a white generic inner from the time with patent info. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could make out a couple of light marks per side, and a couple of superficial longer trails [so do not expect a perfectly clean looking surface] - ALL markings are superficial and definitely top-level. Nothing vaguely feelable, or that would feature in the audio at all [guaranteed]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Anyone familiar with these 1st pressings will know what I mean when I mention that the audio is "dreamy"! It has tremendous warmth and texture resolving all complex and low-key passages with precision and in an assured manner. Interference is very minor indeed, and infrequent. Expect a few low-key crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side [e.g. the super low-key moments like the intro to 'Sun King' - absolutely nothing vaguely invasive of persistent ]. This really is a top-level performer in the truest sense. Very little to find fault with here - just GREAT audio.. 
 Cover (Ex-) In very nice condition and has been cared for down the years. The front is looking superb, flat and with just a couple of thumbnail creases near the opening. The rear looks equally good and, again, there are a few thumbnail creases at the opening. Please note in the top left corner there are the remnants of a signature. Most of it is removed - just lightest amount remains..you have to concentrate and look hard to make it out. Edge wear is light and the spine looks great with just a couple of minor stress creases. Overall the cover still retains its original rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
