Greetings All,
Up for sale is an original UK 1rst pressing of The Beatles' 1969 masterpiece, "Abbey Road" in Stereo, Catalog No. PCS 7088. This is an original copy in absolutely excellent playing shape. Make note of the photos- dark green label with full apple on Side 1 and sliced apple on Side 2. Label notes Made in UK ("An EMI Recording", 33 1/3 Text + Mfd. in U.K.). "Her Majesty" not listed on end of Side 2 label. Drain pictured on front cover in crossing. Album cover is laminated front and back, a specific quality unique to UK pressings (check side profile photo pictured above to show laminated jacket more clearly). Matrix numbers in the record runout/runoff is YEX 749-2 and YEX 750-1 - Giving based off the numbers that this is among the earliest of UK first pressings. Misaligned Apple on the back of the LP cover jacket, printed by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd.
As for the record itself, this is a great playing copy. Clean- no hums, skips, chirping, or interruptions of any kind. Only one very slight and brief crackle during the instrumental interlude/breakdown of "You Never Give Me Your Money." VERY brief. Not even a second long and does not interrupt the song or instill a sense of interruption in the music. Faint scratches here and there, I grade the record as a strong VG+. It has been cleaned and play-tested by me today before listing. Nice gloss and lots of life to vinyl. Brilliant playing example of this fine album. LP comes in white inner sleeve as opposed to black.
The album cover jacket is graded as VG. Very slight/faint sticker residue at upper right corner. Small crease bottom right corner and small rip (that can be easily, easily repaired/fixed) at top left. Looks like there was the beginning of a very small seam split at jacket's left that was sealed shut again and repaired with very clean tape. Overall, the color is vibrant and the album cover is lively and has great presentation, beautiful visually and appears to be in great shape with plenty of life. Inner sleeve is in great shape and still properly houses record.
A truly great album by The Beatles, a rock and roll and musical masterpiece. Tough to come across these UK Pressings often. Will package with great precaution, consideration, and care and ship promptly in a quality LP mailer. As always, will provide a complimentary nice outer-sleeve to house the LP in.
