Photos say it all! This Beatles Collection Box Set has only been lightly played (some records never played) but has been in storage for a very long time and shows age/storage wear particularly to the box edges (inside and out).  There is some water/storage marks to white album in particular and insect marks on the insert (fold out) but the notes themselves are all clear to read.  See photos for exact items you are bidding on and true condition. The photos form part of this listing - so please look at them all.  I don't know enough about records to grade officially but these all look in great condition for their age (and given its been in storage for nearly 20 years) - some are near mint while others have marks.

I've done some research on the internet and discovered the following information about The Beatles Collection Blue Box:

EMI Records announced plans for a "Beatles Gift Box" to be issued simultaneously in England and America in 1978. The package would consist of the Beatles' original twelve British studio albums plus an additional record, "Beatles Rarities" made up of the singles that hadn't yet been included on their LPs. The thirteen albums, plus a composite poster of the group, would come encased in a durable blue cardboard box.

The American set was released in December 1978 but the UK version did not come out until January 1979.  Because of the success of the British and American box sets, EMI subsidiaries in other countries began releasing their own compilations - firstly Japan and then in Australia.

Australian Parlophone put together a domestic version of The Beatles Collection using the Australian editions of "With The Beatles" (Parlophone PCSO 3045) and 'Beatles for Sale' Parlophone PCSO 3062). Both bear cover art unique to Australia. This set also included "Rarities" and, because it was mastered by Australian Parlophone, She's A Woman, Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand and This Boy were all pressed in true stereo. This was followed by two updated versions in 1979 and 1980.

The same as the first Australian set except: Rarities was issued on the orange Australian Parlophone label. Both the records and the boxes were manufactured in Australia. The new box had a lift-off top rather than one that turned down.
