Description

An original 1st stereo press of Help! from summer 1965. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1-AR/3-AR. Tax Code "MT". Please note the labels are perfectly consistent with 1st issue. The publishing credit 'Lark Mus.' is still abbreviated - and the track 'I Need You' still exhibits a space between the end of the track and the asterisk. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo cover with flipbacks. We also have the original Emitex Inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just minor deviation in a couple of spots. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Rarely do you find 1st issue copies <in stereo> sounding quite so clear and precise. There's little to find fault with, here, at worst a few crackles in one spot per side [e.g. IJSAF]. Perhaps, a couple of isolated ticks in one spot per side. A marvellously well preserved 1965 original copy. Even the fussy tracks play clean. Yesterday plays much cleaner than you typically find. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Great to see that iconic front image so untarnished. It still looks pretty white - certainly much better looking than many specimens will do by this point in time. A couple of thumbnail creases on the front. The rear has escaped the worst of the ageing process - just light evidence. A little bit of surface wear in one spot. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Aged - but no splits.
