Description

An original 1st stereo press of Help! on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Please note that this pressing is perfectly consistent with earliest 1st pressing. The publishing credit Lark Music is still abbreviated to "Lark Mus." and the track "I Need You" still retains a space before the asterisk. Remember, stereo pressings were produced in far fewer numbers than their mono counter-parts in 1965..making stereo 1st much much harder to source. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue stereo cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) A beautiful copy and is precisely what any serious collector is after, having seen only light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I don't think I've heard a better original copy - it really is that good. Interference is largely absent. All I could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. And what about "Yesterday"? Well, it plays clean...and let me tell you THAT is the key track. If you find that one playing clean then you know you are really onto something...FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Vg+) A superb looking front cover and it's certainly nice seeing it looking quite that smart. Lovely sheen and none of the usual creasing - it has tanned ever so slightly ..so do not expect a perfectly white finish. The rear looks good too and has avoided the worst of the ageing process - but again there is still light tanning in evidence. Edge wear is very light and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Very nice indeed.
