Marvelous example of Introducing the Beatles with the Version 2 column-back Mono cover containing a very rare stickers combination on the front. Original 4' x 2' song title crimson border sticker with the "Featuring TWIST AND SHOUT PLEASE, PLEASE ME" text in purple. In almost all of the cases, this sticker comes with a cover having the number "2" on the back, including this copy. There are no doubts that the sticker is original as seen from the close up photo. As you know, the Stereo copy of this album with the column-back Mono cover came with various stickers, it's possible to come across a cover having a white "STEREOPHONIC" sticker, the gold-foil stickers, a red "STEREO" sticker, I've come across a cover with the combination of the song title sticker and red "Stereo" sticker, but I've never seen a white rectangular "STEREO" sticker. I'll dare to say that this white sticker is undocumented. And of course, neither I've ever seen a cover with the rare combination of these rare two stickers. The vinyl pressed at the Monarch Records pressing plant in Los Angeles has the Vee-Jay Records black labels with the color band and VJ brackets logo. Original labels with the "STEREO" banner at 3 o'clock, "S" suffix in the VJLPS-1062 catalog number and Monarch Records 2.75' pressing ring. The vinyl also has the other identifiers of the Monarch Records pressing in the runout groove and features the machine stamped "MR" in circle and standard processing plating / metalwork 'delta' number. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - S 63-3402-S URJ △6313 MR in Circle / Side 2 - S 63-3403-S URJ △6313X MR in Circle.
★
The cover is in Excellent Minus condition, very clean without any ring wear (perhaps, only a barely visible hint of it at the bottom of the front cover) and only has some light bumping and creasing at the corners. The spine has a fully readable text and the cover's edges have a minimal amount of scuffing. I grade the heavyweight vinyl conservatively as strong Very Good Plus, almost Excellent Minus. It has only a few very light surface hairlines and scuffs from the original Vee-Jay Records inner sleeve that comes with the album and is in Excellent condition. The marks are non-feelable and don't affect the playback. It's very hard to find a Stereo vinyl of Introducing the Beatles in such a beautifully preserved state. The labels are Excellent Minus, scuff and wear-free, with only some very light spindle marks that can be seen under a strong light source. The glossy vinyl sounds great with a punchy and vivid Stereo sound, perhaps only having some light background noise during the quiet passages which is most likely just the static and will go away completely if the record is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
