Description
Original Beatles single on black UK Parlophone "Love Me Do" / "PS I Love You"
This is the original first recording with Ringo on drums, no tambourine. Subtly different to the version I grew up hearing everywhere in the 1970s - the original mix tapes were wiped in the 1960s and subsequent reissues used the later recording with Alan White on drums, which was also used on the Please Please Me album.
The single first came out on red Parlophone but because of the success of the Beatles it was still sold in the shops in 1964 and was repressed after Parlophone switched to a black label design, using original metal stampers with the original Ringo version.
Some label damage - see photos
Vinyl in VG condition using Discogs grading
"Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise".
There are a few scuffs across the surface but nothing deep, no scratches, no skips.
I've uploaded both sides to YouTube, but had to remove chunks of the song to avoid copyright issues. I've left the run-in and run-out and some quieter sections of songs so you can judge for yourself how much the surface noise affects the recording. Please be sure to give it a listen
both side on YouTube - please click here... or go to https://youtu.be/5roU8Njwyus
I tried to get these stamped vinyl markings into the photos with limited success.
